Dr. Oz: Causes & Cures for Painful Shin Splints

Dr. Oz was asked by a gentleman who recently started jogging and going to the gym, what causes his painful shin splints and how can he prevent them?

Dr. Oz said that the bone in your leg has tendons over it, and shin splints are basically what happens when you get small cracks in the tendon.  Unfortunately, the only thing to do about shin splints is to wait for them to heal and cut back on that type of exercise until then.
