Everyone knows that if you are Anemic, it means you need to get more iron into your diet. But something that I never knew was how to check someone for anemia or iron deficiency. Dr. Oz demonstrated how to check this by pulling down the bottom eyelid and examining the color. If it is pale and not very red, this means it is not getting enough blood and you are likely Anemic.
So what can you do besides for eating more iron and taking iron pills (which Dr. Oz does not recommend because it makes you constipated)? I love this hint – apparently if you cook with a Cast Iron Skillet Pan, some of the iron will seep into your food and help cure your anemia!
