Dr Oz: Amino Acids GOAL Acronym to Rebuild Growth Hormone

Dr Oz: Human Growth Hormone

Dr. Oz is back with his Super Power Hour and continuing the conversation about Human Growth Hormone (HGH) and the benefits it offers to give you more energy and feel more youthful. A recent study found that by taking a special blend of amino acids you can spike your HGH levels by more than 600%, which is basically putting it back to where you were when you were younger.

Dr Oz: Amino Acids GOAL Acronym to Rebuild Growth Hormone

Dr. Oz says taking an amino acid with lycine, ornithine, arginine, and glycine is key to rebuilding your growth hormones.

This also means getting back the same energy you had when you were younger as well. There are four important amino acids that Doctor Oz would like you get into your diet every single day and the best part is that they can all be found in one single pill.

Dr Oz Amino Acids GOAL: Four Essential Amino Acids

  • GGlycine – Glycine helps build muscle and allows you to store more energy and promotes better sleep.
  • OOrnithine – Ornithine contributes energy to the body.
  • AArginine – Arginine helps you build up energy because it regulates your blood pressure so your heart doesn’t have to work so hard. It also might help metabolize fat, which is always a good thing.
  • LLysine – Lysine turns fatty foods you eat into energy.

Dr. Oz says to find a supplement at your local health food store with all four of these amino acids because it so important to have them in your body at the same time in order to rebuild your growth hormone.

Comments to Dr Oz: Amino Acids GOAL Acronym to Rebuild Growth Hormone

  1. I want to know if these can be taken as supplement to Arthritus med such as Celebrex?

  2. We have been trying to no avail to find a combination of the four amino acids in one pill that provides reasonable amounts of each component acid. Many have ornithine and arginine, some have ornithine, arginine and lysine, but the pills that also include glycene don’t provide much of each of the four.

By the way, combining certain whey isolate protein drinks with an ornithine supplement would provide each of the four GOAL components in reasonable amounts. The whey protein isolate with the four amino acids would provide a good number of building blocks for good health.

  4. This is the best one I’ve found so far, but it does seem difficult to find this combination. http://www.amazon.com/NOW-Foods-Amino-Complete-Caps/dp/B0013OQIEY/?tag=wellbuzz-20

  5. Karen Michelsen says:

Not only do you need the GOAL amino acids in one pill, but Dr. Oz’ website recommends 2,000 mgs combining all 4 amino acids. That’s the hard part as well. I typed up the label that was briefly shown on the show with the Amino Acid and milligrams of each amino acid. Does that pill actually exist? I’d sure like to know what it is and where we can find it, but I know Dr. Oz does not recommend any brands. Anyone have suggestions? The NOW Foods
Amino Complete doesn’t come near theright dosage.

  6. Elizabeth Kirkwood says:

Are you certain lysine aids in fatty acid breakdown? I understood L-Carnitine helped with breaking fat down for energy. Please emphasize more on this and correct me if I am wrong.

  7. Elizabeth Kirkwood says:

FYI, I forgot to mention you can find all the ingredients in one package: HCG formulas found in many health stores have all 4 ingredients.

  8. Would you be kind enough to include the names of many healt stores and the actual name of the product beside HCG formulas. Every health food store I’ve call does not know what I’m talking about.

  9. Same here. Searched high and low for that combo pill, with 561mg of Glycine. 888mg of Ornithine, 771mg of Arginine , 981mg of Lysine etc. to no avail. If someone has found it, please share.

  10. Same problem here! Searched high and low for that combo pill, with 561mg of Glycine, 888mg of Ornithine, 771mg of Arginine, 981mg of Lysine etc., 300 caps under $20.00, to no avail. The products found are not as potent as the one on Dr.Oz and the”re full with binders and harmful junk. PLEASE, if someone has found the real McCoy, be kind to share with the rest of us. Thanks

  11. The local health food store, which is fairly large, searched and couldn’t find one with all four and the suggested amounts of each. There is a formula with all four but less than 50mg of Ornithine.

  12. I found a product Body Tech Amino Complex that has very similar amounts of GOAL to what you are looking for. Its not exact but much more the the Now Complete that was on the site.

  13. The Body Tech brand is the best I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing the brand.

  14. Yep, same problem here, I also copied the ingredients by pausing the Dr Oz show, and have been horrably disappointed in trying to find what was supposed to be a common inexpensive easy to find supplement. I believe the doctor. while not endorsing a specific suppment, should at least recommend an EXISTING product! I was very excited do something good for myself, and now…
Perhaps, I,ll try asking on their site again.

  15. This is so very frustrating!!! What’s the purpose of knowing of a great product and not being able to find it. The least Dr Oz show could do is telling us of the health food stores he shopped for these products in his area and from there we can engage in our searches. And surely, one of us is bound to find the famous GOAL supplements. Let’s not lose hope!!!!!

  16. So far I have tried every suggestion Dr Oz has made for 4 months and all I can say is, what a joke nothing has worked.
I’ll never take any of these far fetched supplements that are a joke again.
What a waist of money I have spent, of course the Health stores are getting rich on D oz ridicules suggestions, they love it.
What a fool he has made out of the consumers.
    “Merry Christmas”

  17. Really don’t know what Dcol is referring to or what his agenda is! Most of the supplements seen on the show had done wonders for me, my family, my friends, my coworkers and my gym associates. My only problem is not locating a supplement that I would love to enjoy the benefits. Who forced you to spend money at health food stores, dude or watch the show for crying out loud??? Just in case you forgot, this is wellbuzz.com and he certainly has not made fool of us. One should be grateful to have such a great doctor( and human being) sharing so much useful informations and insights through that amazing format. Obviously, the fool is YOU, Dcol!( There’s no supplement for people who’ve lost their mind!)

  18. Just like MYRNA said most of these useless products suggested is very hard to find.
The joke is on the majority of us waisting our time.
The only miracle with most of these supplements is our money disappears like magic.

  19. I’ve been taking four of the Now Sports Amino Complete per day. I am 58 years old, and although I am physically active, I was noticing a tapering off of my energy over the last three years or so. I thought, “Old age, that’s all.” When I saw the show about the GOAL thing, I figured it was a cheap experiment. If it works, fine. If it doesn’t, fine. After just the first day, I noticed a difference, and after three days, I felt like I did twenty years ago. At first I thought it was the “placebo” effect, but into my second bottle, I am still feeling great. In fact, even at the end of the day I feel great. Don’t know about you, Dcol, but it was worth it for me!

  20. Good to hear from you, Englaise, and the success you’ve had with the GOAL combination. The levels of each GOAL amino acid in the product you used is described on the Now Sports Amino Complete site, and four tablets provide 24 mg of Ornithine, which seems low. Perhaps the Dr Oz show overestimated the Ornithine level that is required.

Also noticed that the Amino Complete levels of the other three GOAL amino acids are also well below the Dr Oz figures. Maybe when one takes a supplement that provides a full range of amino acids including Ornithine, instead of just the four GOAL components, things compensate and provide the talked about benefits.

  21. The following is the amino acid content of Amino Complete, there certainly seems to be a full range of amino acids. It is interesting that Ornithine, Glycine and Arginine are listed as non-essential amino acids. Quite possible that as people age, or in response to the tremendous demands created by working out or even stress, one is not able to make sufficient levels of the non-essential amino acids and adding some in the form of a full range supplement pushes one over the top.

  23. No surprise that it is still extremely hard to find the combo at the level Dr. Oz recommends. The only thing I see that meets the recommendation is not a supplement but a mix – Now Foods Pro GH. It has a combination that amounts to 5,500 mg (note: 3 of the items are listed in grams so I turned that into milligrams when adding the ratios together…see below).

One of the lowest prices is at Lucky Vitamins ($18.89)

  24. Now foods offers two products that will provide the following in just 2 capsules. The products are Tri-Amino which offers 300mg arginine, 250mg lysine, 225 ornithine per capsule. The other product is Glycine (by itself) and offers 1000mg of glycine per capsule.

  25. J. Wagner says:

After hours of online research, including all of the products listed above, I decided to purchase them separately. Vitamin Shoppe had a good combo of the O&A together, and I purchased G and L separately. You must take 2 pills for the O&A combo, and one pill for L, one pill for G. So combined it’s four pills, which seems to be standard with many amino acid complex pills. Dosages meet the 2000 mg recommendation. Only once a day….

  26. Cassandra says:

Thanks J. Wagner and Jeannie G. for your specific purchases. Have they worked for you?

  27. So I found this pill called SeroVital-hgh that claims to do the same thing. Their website indicates they were mentioned on your show but when I researched your episodes to see your comments about this supplement, I could not find anything. Do you have any thoughts (good or bad) about this supplement? There are other ingredients and I’m always hesitant to try things that I know little about even though I have googled all of them. this still does not make me an expert. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks so much!

  28. I saw the SeroVital-hgh ad in the New York Times. I called SeroVital and they read to me all the ingredients although they will not tell you how many mgs. per ingredient. It is lacking 2 of the GOAL aminos – no glycine and no ornithine.

Still haven’t found the label that was shown on the show.

  29. J. Wagner says:

Cassandra–here’s what I would say regarding the combination that I bought. They do work, in the sense that I have added energy, and my work outs are MUCH BETTER. I’m not jacked up as you would be on caffeine…it’s a better, cleaner energy than that. My concentration is also better. My lagging libido improved. But interestingly, I find myself more irritable on the days that I take them. I have a four year old and notice that I’m not as patient. I have spoken with others who have noticed the same thing. So I don’t take them regularly, to address the aging aspect (I’m 40). I take them more on days when I want better work outs. But I was not able to get exactly 2000 total on the milligrams. So that may be why. The A&O = 2000 and the others are 500 each, for a total of 3000. I couldn’t get it lower than that. If I could do the purchase again, I’d buy 500 of each.

  30. Larry Bee says:

    J. Wagner,

Where did you get the GOAL supplement?

  31. Here you go. Very reputable. Also known for his all natural gmo free protein.
    Jayrobb.com

  32. I could not find one pill to get the amount needed if the level needed is correct from Myra Dominguez comment on Dec 4 2012. but IHerb has a 3 combo pill that you have to take 2 per day to get it. Then you take one other pill for the other supplement. And they are pretty reasonable price wise. You need to buy 3 bottles of the Tri amino to last 90 days as the Glycine is 100 days. Hope this helps. Can someone please post again the mg Dr. Oz recommends so I know the level recommended. Thank You

  33. Has anyone been able to find the supplement that was shown? Still looking…..

  34. Pardjay says:

Here is one I found on A Swanson Health. Its Called Maxi-HGH. I comes in a powder form and if you use half a scoop you get closer to the 2000 Dr. O was talking about. Below are the

    Supplement Facts

    Serving Size 1 Scoop (10.25 g)

    Servings Per Container 30

    Amount Per Serving

    L-Glutamine 6,000 mg *
    L-Arginine 1,000 mg *
    L-Ornithine 1,000 mg *
    L-Lysine 1,250 mg *
    Glycine 1,000 mg *

  35. Stephanie Thompson says:

i found on Amazon.com exactly what Dr Oz was talking about. it comes in a capsule form for $29.99, free shipping. if you’re still looking….AminoGH – Extreme with High Absorbancy Amino Acids, 120 caps — Super High Potency – UltraFast Absorbing

  36. I found that three of these amino acids are found in common whey protein. The fourth one, Ornithine can be had in capsule form inexpensively. So, I’ve been drinking whey protein and taking Ornithine capsules before bed. This combination along with the recommended resistance training and deep sleep has proven to be VERY beneficial to my body composition over the last six weeks! Highly recommend!

  37. Grant, thanks for the suggestion! I just looked at the label on the Pea Protein Dr. Oz suggested and it contains all the amino acids except the Ornithine as well. I will give it a try!

  38. Dr. John Bennett says:

Dr. Oz indicated in the Telecast that there was a combination Amino Acid product on the market. What is the trade name and who produces it?

  39. Is it possible that the producers gave him incorrect information? After all this time no one can find that formula or the brand. On his show I got the impression that buy HGH was a no no, but what we are finding is HGH that lists the intended ingredients. So what is the difference? Should I not but it if the label says HGH? I’m guessing that the less ingredients the better but isn’t it all just HGH anyways?

  40. Dr. Oz spoke, flood the stores with idiots who cant take help from pros

  41. Good people, there is no magic pill. Amino acids are food. Dr. Oz has taken the long road to tell you to be a body builder. Eat whey protein, add Ornithine, lift weights, and sleep well. This combination will boost the HGH levels produced by your own body, just like Dr. Oz said. Bodybuilders have been doing this for decades.

  42. Mr. Jackson is right on! I’m a 54 yr old woman who has been doing resistance training and eating the high protein diet since I was about 40 yrs old. I sleep well, feel great, don’t gain weight, and am told I look 10 yrs younger than my actual age. I am post menopausal and I few symptoms. The bottom line is there is no magic to staying healthy and Dr. Oz posts what the latest research “suggests”. Change takes time, so if you aren’t seeing results, maybe you aren’t consistent enough with what you are doing. Have some patience and common sense, but it is true, body builders, athletes and dancers have been doing these sorts of diets for years.
    I will add the ornithine

  43. Vitacost Natural GH Formula has all 4 GOAL amino acids in the amounts recommended by Dr. Oz. it costs less than $20 (including shipping) for a one-month supply.

  44. I just ordered Now Foods Pro GH. It is an amino acid combination powder and has everything Dr OZ recommended and the right amounts.

  45. i found this AminoAcid combaintion at VITA-COST
    Manf..is GENESIS..CALLED SUPER BODY SHAPER

  46. You can find the product at Swanson -GHR Esstenials $14.99 for 102 caps which is not bad.

  47. Hi all! I have read through each of your responses and have checked out each product suggested. My fiancé heard this Dr. Oz episode and is looking for a product that combines all four amino acids or at least as many as possible. The only problem is, he has an allergic reaction to glutamine so any product that has that in there he can’t take, which looks like most of them. Has anyone found anything yet that would come close to this, sans glutamine? I am interested in the GOAL Matrix Amino Acids on Amazon as posted by eloise but haven’t been able to find any site that gives more information about it and Amazon doesn’t have that much on it either. Thank you!

  48. I have found the combination in a product called Maximum Strength Amino 1500 by Precision Engineered. I purchased it from Vitamin World. it suggests 2 pills w/ each meal. The breakdown in each pill is as follows:
    arginine 231
    glycine 699
    Lysine 99
    Ornithine 45
So multiply each by 2, and that’s hitting the 2,000 combined total amount. Although it’s not spread as evenly as the label shown during the show.
That’s my 2 cents. maybe it helps :)

  49. I may be able to help!

    http://www.vitaminworld.com/aminos-002/l-lysine-l-ornithine-l-arginine-003941

it is 3 of the 4 required amino acids. I bought this and now I am just looking for the 4th!

  50. I knew there had to be something out there that had all 4 main Amino Acids. Please check out this FoodScience of Vermont Maxi-HGH, it comes in powder form and in high amounts of miligrams….

  51. Thank you Millie, that looks like what we’ve been looking for.

  52. The only thing that I have found to have the combination Dr. Oz suggested is by a company called FoodScience of Vermont. The product is MAXI-HGH. It’s in powder form and you put one scoop in an 8 oz glass of juice at bedtime on an empty stomach before bed.

    L-Glutamine 6,000 mg *
    L-Arginine 1,000 mg *
    L-Ornithine 1,000 mg *
    L-Lysine 1,250 mg *
    Glycine 1,000 mg *

I just started taking this so we will see if it works or not. You cannot taste the powder once it’s mixed in with the juice.

  53. Claudia says:

I hope you all don’t mind me asking, but in reference to the 2,000 mg requirement for the blended amino acids..

It’s 2,000mg combined, right? Not 2,000 mg of Glycine, Ornithine, Arginine, and Lysine individually? I.e., I can take 500 mg of each (G.O.A.L) and still notice the benefits of the HGH increase?

    Thanks for your time.

  54. Rod Fairlee says:

May 21, 1914: All four GOAL, Dr. Oz ingredients are 2000mg EACH! My search led me to NO W SPORTS PRO-GH. It meets the 2000mg each ingredient except L-Lysine which is 500mg short. Therefore one needs to purchase an additional 500mg in a pill form.
I am 73 and find energy level increase and lowered blood pressure just after beginning a week ago. Avantre sante.

  55. to rod–where did you get that dr.oz ingredients –were 2000mg each??? the amount on the bottle on his show was 561mg gly 888mg orn 771 mg argin and 981 of lys—since no one has ever been able to find the exact bottle that was shown on the show and you can see how many have searched all over—the obvious solution is to buy individual bottles of each with as close to the amounts recommended and with some doubling up, it comes close enough to the quantities dr.oz suggests i personally use swanson for each cept for solgar glycine 500mg the other swanson 3 i take two a day..hope this helps & clarifies

  56. Over the past several years I have NEVER found ANY supplements that Dr Oz suggests that has all of the needed supplement in ONE capsule.
I just ended up buying all 4 of the GOAL supplements in separate capsules.
I went with and bought NOW FOODS products on all 4 individual bottles of the suggested GOAL supplements on Amazon.
This saves the stress of looking for something Dr Oz suggests that doesn’t really exist in one capsule.

  57. Recently saw the Dr. Oz segment on Amino Acid supplements. The name on the bottle said Amino Acid Combination, so I googled it and came up Amino Acid Combination made by BioPower.: Arginine- 771mg, Ornithine- 888mg, Glycine-561mg, Lysine-981mg. The same combo that Sky mentioned above.

  58. My first concern is if Bio Power is the real deal or a con, like many other phony Dr Oz supplements that hit the market after one of his shows with suggestions.
Bio Power from my searching is ONLY available on eBay, which makes me think just another con supplement like a few others that advertise they offer the GOAL supplement.
I fell victim to one of Dr Oz’s supplements several years ago, only one company offered the all in one 4 products = 800 mg capsule that Oz recommended within 2 days of his show airing.
No other well known supplement company had ever heard of a capsule with the all 4 Oz suggested in one capsule. But I fell for it with one company.
The company gladly took my money and finally shipped the phony supplements 3 months later and then closed the business.
They did nothing for me and when I found out the company did not exist anymore and was phony, I thru them out.
People please beware on pretty much any supplements that Dr Oz suggests that would have everything you need in one capsule and the dose he suggests.
They truly do not exist, not something with the honest real products and right doses all in one.

  59. May be right on BioPower being a con. Kind of strange that no one
could find this pill for 2 years and I happen to find this one, after seeing the
show just recently, with the exact same combo as seen on Dr. Oz. I’d like
to know the date that BioPower started making this pill. They do have many
other supplements in their inventory to their credit, but I am still a bit wary.

  60. Check out http://www.taylor-edformulations.com. There is a product I found there called “YouthFull”. It looks kike a 1 scoop per day and has collagen with vit c and L-Carnitine along with the GOAL ingredients. I found it at my local GNC and they said they were getting amazing feedback from it. Im excited to try ut!

  61. I’m curious on how many people will get sucked into this YouthFull product @ $79.99, when I did a search for a store on their website that is suppose to sell this product, all that came up was NO http://www.taylor-edformulations.com existed in the world.
I think I’ll just stick with legitimate company’s like Now Foods for the 4 individual GOAL supplements that I take and Trusted Nutriants for Raspberry Ketones and Green Coffee Bean extract
I’ve used Now Foods products for over 2 years and used Trusted Nutriants for over 1 year, I know that I I’ll get the quality I can trust.

  62. I actually bought mine at GNC and it was 55.99. If it’s in GNC then I am a believer. I don’t know why you can’t find the website as I had no problem with it. There is a store locator on there as well and it is in many stores in a lot of areas. Maybe you should look again.

  63. I did do the store locator on the link you provided it came up NO such option because the website does not exist.
I also went on GNC’s website this product does not exist.
As far as trusting GNC I don’, I don’t believe in having to spend $20 a year just to belong to the GNC club just for a little better pricing.
Which by the way GNC’s prices are way out of line anyway.
I researched prices on some supplements a few years ago, GNC was 10 times the cost compared to the same products, same milligram doses, same count on suppliments @ Amazon.
Even comparing GNC’s prices to HiHealth and Vitamin Shoppe on the same products GNC’s prices are almost double.
Unless of course you pay the $20 a year to join their club then the price is closer to what they price.
NOT WORTH IT, I don’t trust GNC and I won’t shop @ GNC.

Besides as I mentioned earlier I’ve already bought the 4 GOAL suppliments by Now Foods in individual capsules from Amazon. I spent around $60 for about a 4 month supply that’s about 4 times less than what your getting in this Youthful 30 day supply at $55.99 plus tax

  65. It is a franchise exclusive line which mean if you call the corporate line they won’t have it. Again it pulls up fine on my computer/phone/tablet so I can’t help you there. As far as the other comment to each their own and I’m excited about this. GNC mean quality to me and if that means paying a little more than it’s worth it to me.

  66. Just being curious I contacted 3 GNC’s in Phx, none of them have heard of this product as well as GNC when I called.
I guess you must have special privileges with buying this product.
I don’t know many people that would buy something they can’t openly find, I know I won’t.

  67. Lol…well if you go on the website and look at the store locator is says that it is in Fl, NY, MN, and TX. It’s not a big deal…you already said you aren’t going to get it. Why are you so angry? I’m excited about it and have heard great things about it. Again to each their own. And there was no tax…$55.99.

  68. Like I’ve said now 3 times I did go to the store locator and it came up no such site.
Why I’m a little angry is you never stated in the beginning that this product is only available in limited states at GNC.
If a person lived in the states that this product is available, that would be fine.
But this product being only available in 4 states at those GNC’s makes me even more suspicious that’s its a bogus product.
If it was really a quality product, it would be more readily available at all GNC’s, and be available no mater where you live.
Like I had already said GNC corporate has never heard of this company and product, that makes me suspicious.
I’m happy your so peachy happy on your find, you probably even work for this company anyway trying to promote this product under the radar.

  69. Nope…definitely don’t work for them but I am quite happy with my find. On another note this company has another product called RestFull…you may want to look in to that 1. Help your anger issues.
