Here are Dr Oz’s tips to maximize weight loss for week 5 of the Dr Oz 11 Week Diet Plan to Move It and Lose It.
Dr Oz: Best Time to Weigh Yourself
Dr Oz said that the average American wakes up at 6:30 am and that is the best time to weigh yourself – first thing when you wake-up. You weigh the least in the morning and you want to be consistent about when you weigh yourself. Guess how much extra weight you lose by going to the bathroom in the morning and sweating at night? You lose what is equivalent to a bottle of wine!
Dr Oz: Best Time to Exercise
Dr Oz said that the best time to exercise during the day is 6:35 am. So, you wake up, go to the bathroom, weigh yourself, and workout right away. Why? Dr Oz said that when you exercise in the morning, you burn calories from a different part of your body. When you get up in the morning and exercise right away, you are burning fat calories from your waist. However, if you eat breakfast first then you have to burn through what you ate before burning through your fat stores.
Dr Oz: Best Time to Eat Meals
Dr Oz said that based on Circadian Rhythms, your body tells you when you should eat. If you wake-up at 6:30 am, you should have breakfast at 7:30 am. The rule of thumb is to have breakfast within an hour of waking up. If we stick with the schedule of having breakfast at 7:30 am, then lunch should be around noon and dinner should be around 6:30 pm. Dr Oz said that if you delay these times, you will be hungry and more likely to cheat. If you only remember one thing, remember to eat breakfast within an hour of waking up and to have dinner 3 hours before going to bed.
Dr Oz: Best Time to Boost Metabolism
Dr Oz said that around 8 am is the best time to Boost Your Metabolism, because this is when your body is slow and you often feel the need for coffee. Instead, drink a glass of ice cold water at 8 am, which forces your body to burn calories by warming up the water in your belly. Dr Oz said that people who drink ice cold water will lose about 1 pound a year from doing just that!
Dr Oz: Best Time to Grocery Shop
Dr Oz said that the best time to do grocery shopping is at 10 am, because you are still full from your breakfast and your glass of ice cold water, so your blood sugar levels are stable. If your blood sugar levels are too low, that is when you start making bad decisions. Also, write down a list of everything that you want to buy so that you do not get tricked into buying unhealthy things at the grocery store.
Dr Oz: Best Time to Take Fiber Supplements
Dr Oz said that you should take fiber supplements or any natural fibers around 6:15 pm. You want to remember to take Fiber Supplements 15 minutes before you eat dinner, because it helps to fill your stomach so that you eat less before you feel full. Dr Oz said that by taking a fiber supplement, you will feel too full to eat the mashed potatoes at dinner, so you can lose 7 pounds a year from taking Fiber Supplements!
