Dr Oz: 10 Foods Okay To Eat When Detoxing

Have you ever considered a detox to cleanse your body and improve you health? Did you shy away because most of the plans out there require you to drink your way through a cleanse? He has the “Detox Plan To Help You Lose 10 Pounds This Month” and you will not feel deprived because it includes plenty of food to keep you satisfied every day.

Dr Oz: Lose 10 Pounds Without Exercising

Dr. Alejandro Junger, formerly a cardiologist and author of the book Clean, now puts his medical focus on integrative medicine and especially using detoxing as a medical tool. Dr. Junger has created a detox program that uses 10 specific foods to help you cleanse your body without deprivation, like with most detox plans. While most people do not have long term success with dieting, Dr. Junger says that 60% of those who follow his plan have found long term success with their weight loss. Many in Dr. Oz’s audience were pleased to hear that you can lose 10 pounds on Dr. Junger’s detox plan without having to exercise. Dr. Junger explained to Dr. Oz that he does not recommend exercising for the first few days of his detox plan because your body needs the energy for other purposes, but after those first days you can begin to ease into exercising.

Dr Oz: Avoid Peanuts While Detoxing

The first step Dr. Alejandro Junger said you have to take before beginning his detox program is to eliminate key foods that are making you fat. While Dr. Junger admits it might be hard for some people in the beginning to eliminate so many of their favorite foods, he has found that it much easier to remove them all at once instead of one at a time. He added that it is only challenging for the first few days and after that you will not miss these foods at all.

Dr. Alejandro Junger said there are 10 foods you can eat while on his detox plan so you will not feel hungry or deprived while cleansing your body and improving your health.

  1. Dairy/Eggs
  2. Gluten
  3. Processed Sugar
  4. Soy
  5. Beef/Pork
  6. Coffee/Soda/Alcohol
  7. Creamed Vegetables
  8. Peanuts

Dr Oz: Apple Cider Vinegar Improves Digestion While Detoxing

Dr. Alejandro Junger explained that the key to having good health is to create a good environment in your intestines. You do this by improving the amount of good bacteria and decreasing the amount of bad bacteria that is currently present in your gut. There are 10 foods that will help you improve your good bacteria while detoxing your body.

  1. Green leafy and cruciferous vegetables are the kings of detoxing foods, according to Dr. Junger. Foods like broccoli, cauliflower, Swiss chard and brussels sprouts are all good examples.
  2. Color water fish (like salmon) are rich in healthy Omega 3 fatty acids and protein while also having the least toxins, which makes them an excellent food choice when detoxing.
  3. Free-range, pastured chicken
  4. Fresh berries are filled with fiber and help to kill your cravings.
  5. Apple cider vinegar is wonderful in improving digestion.
  6. Lemon water
  7. Herbal tea
  8. Unsweetened coconut milk
  9. Coconut oil
  10. Plant-based protein powder

Dr. Alejandro Junger said if you eat these 10 foods on his detox plan you will begin to look and feel better, with the added benefit of weight loss.

    I cannot locate coconut milk at Wal Mart or Krogers. Do I have to buy coconuts and crack them?

  2. Costco sells Silk brand coconut milk and organic coconut oil. whole food or your health food store should carry them.

    What is color water fish?

  3. You may be able to ask the manager to order it for you at Walmart Or Kroger sometimes they will have you fill out a form customer request form. Good Luck!

I gained a great deal of weight while caring for my husband while he had chemo. Bless his heart he fought hard for ten years.   50. Why is everyone commenting dumber than a bag of rocks? You’re on a fan site morons, not the Dr. Oz show page. Go there and if you can click your mouse a few times you will find the meal plan and recipes. Based on the sheer stupidity here though (can’t find coconut milk, do
    I need to crack them? REALLY) I fear some of you may not be able to navigate yourselves through the first smoothie. Seriously, these comments frighten me.
