Haylie, also known as the “Metabolism Whisperer,” argues a person’s metabolism affects all areas of their health, which could to lead to several problems or even a serious condition. Dr. Oz explained they are all side effects of having a slow metabolism, so today he has a plan to help you reset your metabolism and get healthy once and for all.

- Low libido
Dr Oz: Improve Liver Function By Eating More Protein
Haylie Pomroy believes the liver is your body’s filter, not only for the food you put into it, but also for everything else including hormones. She explained when your liver is not functioning properly you will often feel foggy, fat and fatigued, but eating more protein will help to improve your liver function.
Dr Oz: Signs Of a Thyroid Problem
Dr. Oz says the thyroid is truly the key to having a great metabolism. He explained it is the thermostat for the body, which means it regulates the burning of fat and the distribution of hormones. Haylie Pomroy says to look for poor hair quality, cracked heels and a funny distribution of fat as signs of a thyroid problem. She recommends complex carbohydrates as the best way to improve your thyroid function, which will also boost your metabolism.
Dr Oz: Eat Fat To Burn Fat
The final building blocks that influence your metabolism are muscle and fat. Haylie Pomroy explained how we need to look at food as fuel and use it burn away fat and increase the amount of muscle in our bodies. She says fat tends to just sit and hang on the body, but muscle actually gives you more energy and helps you to burn calories without nearly as much effort. Haylie explained you can boost your metabolism and burn more fat by eating more fat, which left Dr. Oz a bit puzzled, but Haylie argues if you eat more of the right fats at the right times it will stimulate the liver and thyroid, which will cause you to burn more fat.
