Dr. Robynne Chutkan, author of Gutbliss, says the biggest mistake women make is clogging their digestive system first thing in the morning. Anti-Bloat Elixir Recipe
- 1 cup Coconut Water
- ½ cup Pineapple
- ½ cup Papaya
- 1 tablespoon Acacia Fiber Powder
- 1 tablespoon Psyllium Husks
- 1 handful of Spinach
- 4-6 ice cubes
Mix all the ingredients in a blender and enjoy first thing in the morning. This shake contains 10 grams of fiber, which is more than a third of the 25 grams Dr. Chutkan recommends every day in order to avoid bloating.
Dr Oz: Diet Plan to Prevent Bloating
Even though 25 grams of fiber may sound like a lot, Dr. Chutkan says it is easier than you might think to get them all in throughout the day and the best way to accomplish that is by making lunch your biggest meal of the day. She says this is the time of day when you need the calories and energy and it is also the time of day when your digestive system is most active.
