Dr Oz: Rosie’s Diet Plan: Dark Chocolate Brownies & 3 Plate Rule

Dr Oz: Rosie O’Donnell’s Diet Plan

Rosie O’Donnell lost 15 lbs in 2 months (read more about it here: Rosie’s Weight Loss) and she joined Dr Oz to tell you how with her 4 rules. Dr Oz goes to Rosie’s turf (aka her studio) to check out her scene (aka her stage set). Just feet from the stage door, temptation loomed everywhere. There were 4 vending machines in a row and every day, Rosie stated she passed by, looking for the dark chocolate candy bars. (she just looked!)

I am so sold on the Green Vibrance product that Rosie and her girlfriend is using. I got my bottle from Whole Foods. It was nice seeing how Rosie and Dr. Oz drank the glass of Green Vibrance shake. It reminded me of the way a married couple would have their first drink together. Very cute!!!

Use dark chocolate brownie mix, substitute canned pumpkin for oil, use other ingredients as directions call for, and add 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries after mixing.

Do you use the whole can of pumpkin or just the amount that the package calls for oil?
So you add eggs if it calls them right ?

    Thanks much

    Pumpkin Peanutbutter Brownies

    Ingredients

1 (15 oz) can puréed pumpkin

    2 tsp lemon zest

    1 box of brownie mix

3 tbsp peanut butter, softened in microwave

    Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

    Grease an 8×8 baking pan.

In a large bowl, stir together the pumpkin puree and lemon zest

Mix in the brownie mix – just the box mix, no eggs or oil – and combine well. It will be a rather thick batter. Spread the batter evenly into the baking pan. Put the peanut butter in the microwave for about 30 seconds to soften it. Top the batter in the pan with dollops of peanut butter. You can draw a knife through the dough and peanut butter to create a design. Bake for 25- 30 minutes. Let cool before cutting.

My husband doesn’t care for the pumpkin taste, which I’m sure these will have. I have used applesauce instead of oil; will that work here with the strawberries?

I took a box of reg brownie mix. I took out the egg and oil and added 1 cup of canned pumpkin and 1 cup of chopped strawberries and they turned out just fine. I am doing WW so I calculated a normal size brownie serving to be about 3 points. Hope this helps everyone.

I made the Dark Chocolate Brownies with canned pumpkin and 1 cup of chopped strawberries. I ended up using the egg, but will try without next time. I liked them, but my 10 year old did not. I should have not told her I used pumpkin…..Will definitely make these again with my recipe group.

I saw the show with the Brownie Pumpkin recipe and have made them a number of times…DELICIOUS!

Just use a boxed dark chocolate brownine mix. I added the one egg and the water as it says on the box. However no oil. Use 1/2 cup canned pumpkin and 1 cup of diced strawberries. You will love these! I used ghirardelli dark chocolate mix. I figured if you cut the finished product into 16 equal pieces, they would be 155 calories each. Not bad!

I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY BOTTLE OF GREEN VIBRANCE AT CHOPIN CHEMISTS IN RIDGEWOOD QUEENS, NY. IT IS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING PRODUCTS EVER!!! TASTES GREAT WITH CHOCOLATE PROTEIN AND A BANANA. ALSO TASTES AMAZING WITH SHAKES AND JUICES.

Thank you to those of you who posted the recipe for the brownies. For non-cooks like me, Dr. Oz saying “substitute pumpkin for oil” wasn’t enough info. Thank you, viewers!
