Dr. Oz is on a mission to help you shred your fat pants for good. He even provided a drop box for his audience members who wanted to get rid of their fat pants right there on his show. He says there are many surprising mistakes that people make causing them to stay in their fat pants and he has some advice to help you get rid of them forever.

Dr Oz: Wearing the Wrong Pants

One of the biggest mistakes women make when it comes to wearing fat pants is actually skinny jeans. They are skinny jeans because they have lycra in them, which gives them the ability to stretch. This is a problem because we could gain a few pounds and not even realize it because our pants are just stretching as we get bigger. Dr. Oz adds that our jeans actually stretch after each time we wear them, so he says to wash them after every 2 wears, to avoid feeling too comfortable.

Dr Oz Fat Pants Mistake: Where You Eat

Dr. Oz explains that where you eat has a huge impact on your fat pants. For example, if you tend to eat on the go, say standing up, this is a problem. People who eat this way tend to consume about 30% more calories than those who sit down and focus on their meal.

Dr Oz: What’s in Your Freezer?

Dr. Oz says we are buying the wrong freezer foods and it is causing us to hold on to those fat pants even longer. Those dinners are loaded with sodium, which leads to bloating and causing us to depend on those fat pants even more.

  • Under 600 mg Sodium
  • Under 300 Calories
  • Less than 4 grams Saturated Fat

Dr Oz: Fat-Burning Spices

Dr. Oz introduced his audience to a game he called “The Spice is Right” as a fun way of sharing the best spices to help you burn fat and lose weight.

  1. Which spice would help to cut your sugar cravings to shred fat? Cinnamon or Nutmeg
    The correct answer is Cinnamon. Cinnamon has an insulin-like effect and will actually help to lower your cholesterol if you eat about 1 teaspoon every day.
  2. Which spice accelerates your digestion to shred fat? Garlic or Fennel
    The correct answer is Fennel because it is a natural diuretic and helps the body get rid of waste products, making it great for weight loss. Take 1 teaspoon after each meal to aid your digestion.
  3. Which spice is a metabolism booster to shred fat? Cumin or Coriander
    The correct answer is Cumin. Cumin stimulates metabolism by heating up the body and boosting the liver’s ability to detoxify. Eat 1 teaspoon 2-3 times per week to boost your metabolism.

Dr Oz: Wash Pajamas Twice Per Week

Sometimes it can be good to hang on to things from your past, but sometimes it is best to just shred them from your life. One audience member brought a t-shirt that she has held onto for 8 years that used to belong to her ex-boyfriend. Not only did Dr. Oz tell her to shred it so she can move on with her life, but he also said it is important to wash our pajamas frequently to keep germs from building up. The rule of thumb is to wash your pajamas twice as much as your sheets. Wash your sheets one time a week, so wash your pajamas at least twice per week.

Dr Oz: Shred it or Save it – Wedding Cake

A couple in Dr. Oz’s audience brought along the top of their wedding cake that they have had for over 10 years. It has survived two hurricanes and moved from home to home with them, but they have held onto it. For sentimental reasons, Dr. Oz said they can keep it, even if it is not safe to eat.

  2. I watched your show with the fat burning spices-you suggested a serving for each, such as a teaspoon for each, Cinnamon, Fennel(each each meal) and Cumn(2-5 times a week).
    You simply cannot eat these from a teaspoon, what are your suggestions so you get the correct amount as needed.
