Dr Oz: Lose Two Pounds Overnight
What would you give up to get the swimsuit body of your dreams? Doctor Oz said you actually don’t have to give up your favorite things to get in shape. Dr Caroline Apovian is the woman behind The Overnight Diet, and she helped to develop a successful rapid weight loss diet.
Caroline said the diet combines two weight loss strategies, including a way to lose two pounds overnight. You can potentially achieve this by taking Dr Apvoian’s Shrink Drinks, which fill you up and help your body let go of water and salt.
Dr Oz: Swimsuit Cleanse Shrink Drink Recipes
Day 1 of the cleanse features Shrink Drinks, with protein powder containing whey and casein protein. Whey goes to work right away, while casein is longer lasting to keep you full. You could lose 1% of your muscle every year after age 30, and protein power can help you build it back up and keep your metabolism going strong.
Breakfast – Orange Zest Smoothie Recipe
- 1 cup Greek Yogurt
- 1 Whole Orange (seedless)
- 3 leaves Swiss Chard
- 1/2 Banana
- 1 Plum, pitted
- Lemon Juice
- Orange Zest
Combine ingredients in the blender and drink for breakfast.
Lunch – Kale Margarita Smoothie Recipe
- 1 scoop Protein Powder
- 2 cups Mango, cubed
- 2 1/2 cups Kale, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups Margarita Mix
- 1/2 cup Coconut Water
- 1 cup Ice
Blend ingredients together until smooth.
Dinner – Crispy Apple Smoothie Recipe
- 1 scoop Protein Powder
- 1 cup Water
- 1 Apple
- 1 Orange
- 1 Banana
- 1 Carrot
- 2 handfuls Spinach
- Peel, seed, and core fruits.
- Combine ingredients in a blender.
Dr Oz: Lean Muscle Mass & Metabolism
Doctor Oz said there is a lot of medical research to support Dr Apovian’s ideas. It’s all about preserving lean muscle mass. Maintaining muscle in the body helps you keep your metabolism high and stable.
The more protein you can add into your diet, the higher your metabolism will burn and the better your body will be at burning fat.
Dr Oz: Fat Flush Diet
For the rest of the seven-day plan, you get to eat a lot of good stuff, according to Dr Apovian. The diet includes:
- Four 3-ounce servings of protein
- Three 1/2 cup servings of whole grains
- Two 1 cup servings of dairy
- Four servings healthy fat (avocado, nuts, olive oil)
- One small glass of wine
Make sure you are getting a full eight hour night of sleep during the plan to keep your hunger hormones in check.
Dr Oz: Overnight Diet Review & Meal Plan
You can also snack on unlimited fruits and non-starchy vegetables to keep yourself full throughout the week of your Overnight Diet. The most important part is to get in all the servings of food outlined for the Fat Flush portion of the diet.
Here are some of the meal suggestions Caroline showed Dr Oz.
- Breakfast – Two eggs, whole grain cereal, cottage cheese, and fruit
- Lunch – Chicken, quinoa, avocado
- Dinner – Steak, pasta, fish
“You get so full that you stop eating,” Dr Apovian said of the energy-dense, high volume meal plan.
