Dr Oz and Weight Watchers partnered on the Empty Nest Diet program and brought back a recent guest on the show, Barbara, to tell us about her experiences and just how much weight she lost in 3 months on the Weight Watchers Point Plus Program. Liz Josefsberg was Barbara’s Weight Watchers coach, and she joined them as well.

As a refresher, Barbara’s only daughter left for college and so Barbara began to fill the huge void by eating. Now, after being on the Weight Watchers Program, she said that she cooks for the week on Sunday so that she has healthy options for the week ahead. She said that the Weight Watchers Plan is not intrusive in your life, but rather it becomes a part of your life. She used the point system, weekly meetings, and other resources in order to bring everything together to work for her. She learned portion control and started to eat steel cut oatmeal for breakfast, which has protein and is a great choice. Barbara even replaced her deep fryer with a popcorn air popper.

Dr Oz asked Liz Josefsberg what she saw as the biggest change in Barbara, and she said it is that Barbara went from not believing she could lose weight to being confident in her success. Dr Oz asked Barbara how the Weight Watchers Points Plus Plan has changed things for her. She said it changed everything and nothing at the same time. She changed how she looked at food, but she loves to cook since she has a degree as a chef. She thought that Weight Watchers would take that away from her, but now instead of just grabbing food, she reads the ingredient label first.
