Dr Oz: Roasted Soy Nuts Fight Belly Fat
Dr. Natasha Turner took the idea of a Mediterranean diet, which is high in heart-healthy foods, and created her own plan that includes foods to stabilize your blood sugar and insulin. Dr. Turner says when you limit insulin you will have less hormones and store less belly fat, so here is what she recommends:
- Eat 2X more protein and fat than carbs
Basically, Dr. Turner says to never eat carbs alone because when you pair them with a source of protein and fat it slows the release of sugar into the bloodstream and prevents weight gain.
- Try eating ¼ cup of low-fat cottage cheese or ricotta with pasta or dessert to slow the release of sugar.
