Dr. Durvasula says there is research that shows if you smell Grapefruit Oil before entering a “battlefield” or a situation where you will be overwhelmed by the sight and smells of different foods, the smell of the Grapefruit Oil will actually override some of those and help you to eat less.

Dr. Ramani Durvasula says that emotional hunger types are often seeking comfort when they eat, so the key is to put something warm into your body, like tea. She recommends Rooibos Tea because not only is it warm, but also a little sweet, and filled with antioxidants which help to lower stress. It is like getting a hug, but in the form of a warm cup of tea. Another recommendation for emotional hunger type eaters is a supplement called Satiereal Saffron Extract. Dr. Oz says studies have shown that taking this supplement can make you feel better and snack less, which can also lead to weight loss.
