Dr Oz: What Causes Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

Dr. Oz asked for an Assistant of the Day to help him explain what causes IBS and what you can do prevent it. He says that stress is a big cause of IBS, but there are some other triggers that could be blame as well.

    I’m surprised seeds are recommended for IBS. Seeds act like sandpaper in my intestines. If I eat anything with a lot seeds like raspberries, figs, even popcorn. I set off my IBS almost immediately. My intestines swell to 3x the normal size and bowel movements, if I can get them thru, are thinner than a pencil meaning my intestines are swollen almost shut. I’ve only heard of one doctor not recommending seeds and nuts and he has IBS and knows from experience what they can do to IBS sufferers. He ends up passing out in the bathroom and going to the ER when he eats them.
