Dr. Oz: What Does All-Natural Mean?
Dr. Oz decoded what food labels really mean on his show today with the help of Stefanie Sacks, author of What the Fork are You Eating? She explained that food labels are unregulated. So companies use whatever labels they want with little regulation.
The first label was all-natural, which makes you think it’s made of natural ingredients, that it’s healthy, and that it’s food that’s great for you. All-natural labels mean the food is minimally processed, which means it can apply to anything from processed cereal to oats. The oats are obviously truly all-natural, but the cereals are not.
