Dr Oz: B Vitamin Bingo: Vitamin B-6, B-12 and Vitamin B-3 Niacin

By on January 25, 2011

Dr Oz played a game called B Vitamin Bingo on today’s Dr Oz Show.  Doctor Oz asked four true or false questions about B Vitamins, and then he picked a ball from the Bingo Hopper.  The first person in the audience to get everything in a row on their Bingo Card won a Wii Console Unit and a Wii Party Game.  Dr Oz sure is providing better prizes for some of his games these days!

Dr Oz: B Vitamins Help You Lose Weight

Dr Oz’s first true / false question was: B Vitamins convert food to fuel to help you to lose weight.  This is true, because B Vitamins boost your metabolism and make it easier for you to burn Dr Oz B Vitaminscalories.  Dr Oz picked the ball G-57 for this question (for those of you who are interested!).

Dr Oz: Vitamin B-12 For Brain Function

Dr Oz’s second true / false question was: eggs, meat, and dairy support a healthy brain function because they are high in vitamin b-12.  Again this is true, because Vitamin B-12 helps to protect against brain volume loss.  Dr Oz picked ball B-4 for this one.

Dr Oz: Vitamin B-6 Lowers Cholesterol

Dr Oz’s third true / false question was: Vitamin B-6 will not help reduce your risk of high cholesterol.  False!  Vitamin B-6 helps to lower high cholesterol and helps to lower your risk of heart disease.  Dr Oz picked ball I-21.

Dr Oz: Vitamin B-3 For Skin

Dr Oz’s final true / false question was: applying Vitamin B-3 or Niacin to your face gives you a more plump and youthful appearance.  True.  Dr Oz said that Vitamin B3 helps your skin to maintain water.  And the final ball was O-74 and someone in the audience won bingo and went home with a Nintendo Wii!
