Dr. Oz: Measuring Heart Rate

Today, Dr. Oz declared he was “rewriting” health rules. I’m not sure what this means, because all of the things he talked about on his show in this segment seemed very normal to me.

The first health rule was knowing how to check your heart rate. If a doctor suspects you may have heart problems, they may give you an Electrocardiogram, or EKG. EKGs check your heart rate and let doctors know exactly how regular your heart rate is. This is important, because if your heart rate isn’t regular, the blood can get stuck in there and “actually fly up to your head”.
