Dr Oz: Dangerous Addiction To Sleeping Pills
Approximately 70 million Americans struggle with sleep disorders and more are turning to over-the-counter remedies or prescription medications for relief. A third of American adults experience nighttime sleep difficulties each week. Some sleep experts are now worried that serious side effects and risks are being downplayed. Women are almost twice as likely to use prescription sleep drugs, and because they metabolize them more slowly than men, they’re more likely to become dependent on them.
Emergency room visits caused by a popular ingredient in sleeping pills nearly doubled in a two-year period, with women accounting for two-thirds of those visits.
