Dr. Oz: Teenage Girl with Cystic Fibrosis Speaks Out

Dr. Oz said that a recent viral video got his attention, from a 17-year-old girl named Claire Wineland who has cystic fibrosis and wanted to highlight the perks of being in the hospital. She’s been in and out of hospitals her entire life and she really knows the behind-the-scenes. Among the perks she listed in the video was the nurse call button, riding around the hospital in a wheelchair, no bedtime, unlimited cable and WiFi, you don’t have to worry about looking presentable, no makeup, room service, time to read books, and making real connections with the nurses and patients.

Wonderful pure and simple so so touching! I already have patients that have been reached and moved by this episode. Way to enact positive change! Patient’s that are struggling with compliance issues, self image issues, difficult home lives, and Claire, as always, will remain a beacon of hope for all CF patients with her positive outlook and attitude. You have offered her the opportunity to reach a larger audience. She has an inspiring message which she delivers with grace and poise. Thank you Dr Oz
