Dr Oz: Alzheimer’s Test July 26 2011
Dr Oz’s show on July 26, 2011 is called “What’s Your Risk: Alzheimer’s.” Doctor Oz discussed two cutting edge Alzheimer’s Disease Tests: the PET Scan and the Spinal Fluid Test. Plus, he gave a list of four Alzheimer Fighting Foods including Chia Seeds, Brazil Nuts, Coffee and Lentils. Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s Disease runs in my family, so this segment struck very close to home. I have consciously tried to increase the amount of lentils and brazil nuts in my diet (I can’t stand the taste of coffee). But the Chia Seeds ingredient left a big question mark in my mind – as I know it did for many of you. What do you do with Chia Seeds? Luckily, one of my health-conscious friends made Chia Seed Pudding one day when I was over at her house, and it was delicious! After much begging and pleading, she gave me the recipe and said that I could post it online. Here is the recipe: Chia Seed Pudding Recipe. And if Alzheimer’s Disease runs in your family as well, I would definitely look into the PET Scan and the Spinal Fluid Test, or at least talk to your doctor about them. If any of you have already had either or both of these Alzheimer’s Tests, please share your experiences and results with us in the comment section below! If you found out that you are likely to develop Alzheimer’s, how has that impacted your life? And if you discovered that you do not have any signs of getting Alzheimer’s, how has that changed your outlook?
Dr Oz: Soda Challenge
Dr Oz also spoke about his 28 Day Soda Challenge on his July 26, 2011 show. Have you taken the Dr Oz Soda Challenge yet and did it work for you? Or do you plan on getting on-board now? Leave a comment below and share your experiences and tips! I know that when I was going through the process of quitting soda, it was extremely tough. But the good news is that now I do not ever crave it… and when I have a sip, I do not even like it anymore because it just tastes so sweet. I guess that is the power of training your tastebuds!
