Dr Oz: Radon Hot Spots & Lung Cancer Radon Test

Dr Oz: Lung Cancer

Dr Oz’s Show on June 29, 2011 is all about Lung Cancer Warning Signs and prevention tips.  Do you know if you live near one of America’s Radon Hot Spots?  Doctor Oz said that the number one Lung Cancer Risk in your house comes from living on a Radon Hotpot, and shockingly, 1 out of 15 homes have Radon in them.  Luckily, there is a At-Home Radon Test that you can use to check if you live in one of the homes that contain Radon.  Many people, myself included, previously thought that if you do not smoke cigarettes, you really do not have to worry about Lung Cancer.  But about 10% of Lung Cancer patients do not get it from cigarettes.  In fact, Doctor Oz said that 20,000 non-smokers will be diagnosed with Lung Cancer this year.  So it is crucial that everyone knows the Lung Cancer Warning Signs such as a persistent cough, coughing up blood, and chest, shoulder or neck pain.  And of course, if you do smoke cigarettes, it is crucial that you quit as soon as possible.  Here is a link with great advice on quitting smoking: Dr Oz Quit Smoking Plan.

Dr Oz: GoBidet

Doctor Oz also did a segment on Germ Free Gadgets, such as the GoBidet Toilet Attachment, the Philips Sonicare Dr Oz GoBidetFlexCare Electric Toothbrush, the Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer, and the Face Butt Towel.  Each of these gadgets sound like brilliant ideas!  I love how the Sonicare FlexCare Electric Toothbrush has a UV Sanitizer that kills the germs on your toothbrush.  And the Face Butt Towel seems like it would make a great gift for a person with a good sense of humor, though I am not sure how much I would like to have it hanging in my bathroom.  I am most intrigued though by the GoBidet Bidet Toilet Attachment which turns your toilet into a bidet.  Dr Oz said it is great for people who tend to get UTI’s and yeast infections, but I can see how it would be wonderful for just about everyone.  Think about how fabulous this would be for a person with hemorrhoids… or even to help soothe the area after giving birth (what an awesome baby shower gift!).

I was the show on Lung Cancer, it is a little late for me. I found out in January, 2011 that I have lung cancer and it is terminal. I have had chemo for 4 months and it has went in to remission. I want to thank you for saying that non smokers do get lung cancer. I am a non-smoker. Thanks again for a good show.
    God Bless
