In this segment, actor, Jennifer Esposito, who plays a detective on the hit show, Blue Bloods, and is also the founder of Jennifer’s Way,  explained to Dr Oz how several years ago, she found out she has Celiac disease.

Dr Oz: Celiac Disease

Jennifer had the disease for many years but it wasn’t until her hair began falling out while she was on the set of another show that she sought help.  After many doctor’s visits, she found one physician who decided to test her for Celiac disease.   She tested positive and since then has been on a crusade to create healthy, delicious gluten-free dishes, including her Blueberry Walnut Scone recipe.

Click on this link for the full Gluten-Free Scone Recipe that Jennifer Esposito made Dr Oz Blueberry Walnut Scone Recipe with Dr Oz.  The ingredients include: brown rice flour, coconut, sorghum flour, tapioca starch, salt, xanthan gum, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, canola oil, vanilla, apple sauce, banana, maple syrup, brown rice syrup, soy milk or rice milk or almond milk or hemp milk, blueberries and walnuts or pecans.  If you are in doubt about whether or not you have Celiac Disease or are Gluten Intolerant, you can try eliminating gluten from your diet for a couple of weeks and see if you feel better overall.  There is also a blood test that can be done to determine if you have Celiac Disease, but some people have a Gluten Intolerance even though they may not have Celiac Disease.  So the bottom line is that the best way to see if gluten disagrees with you is by cutting it out and testing out the results.
