Dr Oz: Chef Andy’s Mardi Gras Cajun Rub

Chef Andy consumed over 600 tsps of salt per day. (Whoa! That’s a lot of salt.) On a previous Dr Oz show, Chef Andy stepped into the Truth Tube. When he saw his stats, he knew he had to lose weight, not only for himself, but also for his 3 kids. He now uses herbs to season food instead of salt. It has been two years since Dr Oz had seen Chef Andy. When Andy came out, Doctor Oz told him he looked good, but what he really wanted to know was if Chef Andy went back to his old habits. Chef Andy told him that he had not added salt to his food for two years and now he reads labels when he shops. He told Dr Oz that the Whitehouse (American Culinary Federation) came knocking on his door and asked him to go out to schools to educate elementary kids and to change how lunches were being served.

    I watch your show almost regularly….fantastic and informative show everytime.
    I try to cook salt free, because I need to avoid salt due to HBP……I use herbs
    but sometimes it doesn’t taste like it should so I add a sprinkle of Salt & Pepper.
    I wrote down the Cajun rub, and will get it mixed up and begin using it. Thanks.
    Amazed at all the helpful information you always have on your show.
