Dr Oz & Rocco DiSpirito BBQ Rib Recipe

Dr Oz Grill Recipe

Dr Oz did a segment with Chef Rocco DiSpirito, author of Now Eat This: The Diet, to teach us how to do a Healthy Grill Makeover.  Just in time for the summer, all of us love to barbeque.  But just like Doctor Oz’s guest Tracy, we tend to make ribs, burgers and sausage that are not the healthiest options.  So Chef Rocco DiSpirito put together a healthy BBQ Baby Back Rib Recipe, because grilling should be one of the easiest ways to make delicious food without all of the extra calories and fat.

Dr Oz: Baby Back Rib Recipe

Rocco DiSpirito said that the first thing he does is to replace Spareribs with Baby Back Ribs, which are lower in fat and calories.  This saves you over Dr Oz BBQ Baby Back Rib Recipe100 calories per serving just from this one small change.  The next healthy diet tip is to cook your ribs in a big foil pouch, because that makes clean-up easy and it does all of the basting for you.  This way you do not have to stand in front of the grill and baste the bbq, which adds fat and calories and takes you away from spending time with your friends and family.

I don’t take the fat off of baby back ribs but I do use a pressure cooker which claims to dissolve fat (something that I read-specific to all pressure cookers not just one brand) and you still have the flavor. I bought the Wolfgang Puck Pressure cooker and love it-I also bought one for my son’s family-they love it too.
