Dr Oz Superfans
Dr Oz spent some time meeting and thanking a few big fans who always take his advice to heart. The next family is all about taking healthy eating to the next level. Regina, Charles, and Trey visited the show to talk about how they use what they’ve learned. Get the Tomato Paste Chlorine Remedy and Mom’s Smoothie Ice Pops recipe from the show.
Regina noticed that she yo-yoed growing up, and she wanted her children’s healthy diets to be more stable. They have four children, and they want to lower the kids’ risk factors for hereditary disease.
Dr Oz: Turkey Tacos
Trey, their oldest, is seven years old. He said he loves cooking turkey tacos with his mom; they substitute ground turkey instead of ground beef whenever possible. Regina loved the show with the family that lost 500 pounds, and they’ve used many recipes featured on Dr Oz.
Benefits like Lycopene and Vitamin C are little ways that make each family meal a bit healthier, and over time that can add up to some really positive changes. The gang even makes Smoothie Ice Pops for dessert.
Dr Oz: Smoothie Ice Pops Recipe
- 1/2 cup fresh berries
- 8 ounces Almond Milk
- 6 Strawberries, sliced
- 1 1/2 Bananas
- Honey for garnish
- Blend ingredients until well mixed
- Pour into popsicle molds and store in freezer until solid.
Trey’s contribution to the recipe was licking honey out of the bowl. This family seems to have a great sense of humor and I hope they grow up with these healthy habits. The three younger kids joined Dr Oz and their parents on the stage to enjoy Ice Pops.
Dr Oz: Todd Wilbur Chicken Remake Recipe
Another family submitted a Dr Oz Super Fan video explaining how they’ve been inspired by the healthy food options featured on his show. They snack on Greek Yogurt and Flaxseeds, while the Todd Wilbur Fried Chicken Recipe is their favorite entree.
Dr Oz Fish Pedicure
Though there are a lot of crazy ideas featured on this show, many Dr Oz fans are up for anything. Dr Oz said he doesn’t shy away from crazy health trends, like a fish pedicure. He showed pictures of himself getting the treatment with his kids.
Dr Oz: Tomato Paste Removes Chlorine from Hair
He also met Diane, an audience member who has a neat trick for kids with chlorine in their hair from the swimming pool. She uses tomato paste on her daughter’s platinum blonde hair. The trick is to wet the hair and leave the tomato paste in for 30 minutes to pull out the chlorine.
That’s a great trick, and Diane even brought before and after pictures to show the results. That’s a great tip if you love swimming but not brittle hair.
