Dr Oz: Year of No Sugar Review
Most of us have probably said we wanted to give up sugar, but could you do it for an entire year? That is the challenge one woman posed to her kids and her husband and while it was not always pretty, they did it, and Eve Schaub documented her family’s journey in a memoir titled Year of No Sugar.
Dr Oz: How to Make Homemade Mayonnaise
Eve Schaub tells Dr. Oz that while it was tough at first, her children got used to going without added sugars. She says during the year her family agreed they would treat themselves to one sweet indulgence every month, like for someone’s birthday, but it was not as enjoyable as they expected because their palates changed.
Eve says when they dove into a Banana Cream Pie a few months into removing all sugar from their diet, it was so sickeningly sweet that nobody could eat it. Dr. Oz explains this is because when you take sugar out of your diet it literally reinvigorates your taste buds, so they appreciate natural sweetness more than ever before.
