On today’s show, Doctor Oz was joined by Celebrity Chef, Michelle Bernstein, from The Food Network’s, Iron Chef America, to prepare an easy, delicious chicken dish for under ten bucks. (Remember, she beat Chef Bobby Flay, so she must be good.)
Tips: use cheaper cuts of meats and braise them. Use healthy fillers, like Quinoa, for more flavor and less calories.  These recipes are definitely going on Pinterest!!!

Dr Oz Quinoa Tabouli Recipe

Dr Oz tastes a Quinoa Tabouli Recipe & Chicken Marinated in Yogurt.

2 skinless, boneless, chicken breasts (cut in half and pound flat to 1/2-1/4-in thickness)-cheaper and less calories
2 Tbsp olive oil
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
8 oz of yogurt (acid of yogurt tends to rise)
1 Tbsp of honey
1/2 tsp of ground ginger (gives it a subtle sweet taste)
Pinch of cumin
Juice from 1 lime
1 tsp of jalapeño (chopped very fine)
1/2 tsp of kosher salt
*if you don’t have these exact spices, play with it. Use what you like.
-Combine all marinade ingredients together but set aside 1/2 C
-Pour the rest of the marinade into a 1gallon plastic bag
-Place the chicken in the bag (4 hours to overnight)
-Remove the chicken from the marinade, removing excess marinade on the chicken breast
-Heat a large grill pan on medium heat
-Add oil
-When hot, season the chicken breasts
-Place the chicken breast into the hot pan and cook until golden brown on both sides (approximately 4-5 minutes).

-Serve with a little reserved yogurt sauce and quinoa “tabuoli.” (see below)

Dr Oz: Quinoa Tabouli Recipe

Quinoa “Tabouli” (Middle Eastern salad)
1 C quinoa (rinsed and drained)
1 C kale (remove the center and slice thinly)
1/2 C fresh chopped Italian parsley
1/4 C chopped mint (fresh)
1/4 C scallions (slice thin)
1/2 C 1/4-in diced fresh tomatoes
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Juice from 1 lemon
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
*Try to use all fresh herbs


-Cook Quinoa according to package directions
-Place in fridge
-Combine the ingredients
-Season to taste

    Am gonna try it, but I don’t know what Quinoa is. Are you suppose to mix it with The yogurt chicken, or eat it seperatly?

  2. I made this. It is so delicious. I now make it often. Lavina-Quinoa is a grain you can find at most stores. You may have to ask for help locating it. You don’t mix the quinoa with the yogurt. Enjoy!
