Dr. Oz’s next guest believed she was simply sick with the flu until she started to cough up roundworms. What might be worse is that they were alive! She actually did not believe what she saw in the toilet, so she went back to bed thinking she was imagining things due to the high fever she was experiencing. The next morning it only got worse, so she immediately went to see her doctor, but she says she never actually learned where the worms came from. Fortunately she is doing well now, but says she does suffer from asthma and avoids eating spaghetti. Dr. Margaret Williamson explained the common symptoms associated with a roundworm infection.

Dr. Oz wanted to offer natural ways you can protect yourself from getting an infection from a parasite. The first is to eat a lot of high-fiber foods in your diet, especially whole grains. High fiber foods actually prevent parasites from being able to grab onto the inside of your intestines, so they then just float away and out of your body.

Dr. Oz recommended devoting one week every month to increasing the amount of whole grains you are eating so you can flush your body and keep it free of parasites.

Dr Oz says that eating more whole grains can help improve the health of your intestines and prevent parasites from attaching to the wall of your gut!

Dr. Oz’s next recommendation to prevent parasites is a probiotic called S.Boulardii. It is good for your gut and supports the health of your gastrointestinal system. It contains a high amount of yeast, which creates an environment that parasites do not like!

Dr. Oz had a third tip to offer for someone who thinks they may already have a parasite. He says garlic helps to kill parasites, which is why it is so widely used for its medicinal capabilities.
