Dr Oz: Alternative PMS Treatment & Male vs Female Heart Disease Signs

Dr Oz: Alternative Treatment For PMS

Do you feel more comfortable seeing a female doctor than you do a male doctor? Dr. Oz revealed what female doctors know that male doctors do not and what he shared might surprise you! Find out how to determine where your pain is coming from so you can see the right doctor for the symptoms you are having.

Dr Oz: Male vs Female OBGYN Symptom Treatment

Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz, an OBGYN, believes women are often more comfortable seeing a female doctor because they hear a woman’s story and listen to her symptoms very different than a male doctor. She says this is because a female doctor has most likely gone through the very same thing as their female patients, especially a gynecologist. She explained male doctors look at women and PMS very differently because they are often looking for the quick fix and usually recommend birth control pills to help with the symptoms. A female doctor, however, usually knows that recommendation could actually make certain symptoms worse. Dr. Gilberg-Lenz says female doctors are more apt to pull from their own personal experiences when treating their gynecological patients since they have often lived through the very same thing as their patients.

Dr Oz: Alternative PMS Treatment

Dr. Oz asked Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz if birth control pills are the best “first line treatment” for PMS symptoms and her quick response was “no” because each woman, and her symptoms, needs to treated as an individual. She offered a natural alternative that has been found to work for treating PMS.

  • Chaste Tree Berry – This herbal supplement comes in capsule form or as a tincture. It can help PMS symptoms like breast tenderness, bloating and moodiness.

Dr Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz says that male doctors often prescribe birth control pills to women with PMS symptoms, but in some cases they can actually make the symptoms worse, so she shared a better alternative.
