Dr Oz: Lazy Girl Health Tests
Dr Oz did a whole show just for Lazy Girls, which included tips on supplements to take like Cocowell Supplements. You may be lazy, but you still want to be healthy. You’re in luck! Doctor Oz has the quick fix health test for the lazy girl. Grab a mirror and check your tongue for acid reflux or check your fingernails for kidney disease. Find out about these and other common issues—the lazy girl way!
Acid Reflux Tongue Test
Grab your mirror and say “Ahhhhhhh!” Check out that tongue. Look for a white, yellow or an orange coating.
This may be a sign for acid reflux. It will start as a thin, yellow stripe, which is acid that has come up and changed the color of the tongue. When you lay down for bed at night, the acid can coat your tongue. Dr Oz says a majority of people don’t even know they have it. Other subtle clues of acid reflux include having a hoarse or swollen throat when you get up in the morning.
Kidney Disease Fingernail Test
Check out your fingernails without nail polish. Look for horizontal white stripes on several nails. This indicates kidney disease. (1 horizontal line could just mean trauma to the nail.) If you have lines on many nails, this may mean your protein levels are low. Another subtle clue includes constant fatigue. If so, check with your doctor, who will perform a urine test to see how much protein you have in your urine.
Allergies Eyelid Test
To test, pull down your lower eyelid. Look for little cobblestone bumps. This could mean allergies. Allergies may be caused by pet dander, dust mites or mold. Another subtle clue includes morning congestion.
Dr Oz: Celiac Disease Knee & Elbow Rash
Check your knees and elbows for a red, itchy rash. 10-15% of those people with Celiac Disease will also get rashes.
