Dr Oz: 48 Hour Cleanse Detox: Lunch Smoothie & Detox Drink Recipe

Dr Oz 48 Hour Weekend Cleanse:

Dr Oz Breakfast Detox:

Quinoa & Chopped Prune Recipe

1/2 cup quinoa, rinsed
1 cup water
1 pinch nutmeg
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tbsp flax seed oil
1/3 cup chopped prunes
1/4 cup rice milk

    Dr.oz I want to do your 48 hour cleanse, but i get real bad headaches if i don’t drink coffee in the mornings is there anything you suggest please.

    Hi there. Saw and enjoyed the episode, but when I came here to follow the 48-hour cleanse, I’m finding there isn’t enough information. Great recipes, but are the quantities for one person over the 48-hour period, ie. the blend-free juice drink seems to yield about 5 cups of juice, whereas the smoothie looks like it will yield one drink for one day. The broth: even over two days, it looks like there’s a lot of broth to drink. Are we drinking it all over the course of 48 hours? And we’re supposed to drink either the blended juice drink OR the blend-free juice drink, not both, correct? That might be confusing to someone who hasn’t seen the episode. Re the saurkraut: could I sauté cabbage with some broth and cider vinegar instead of buying a jar of saurkraut, ie. is it simply the cabbage you want us to have, or is there some important quality to traditionally fermented saurkraut that’s important in some way?

    I’d also like to hear a response to Mirta’s question about caffeine. I told a friend about this cleanse, but she’s wary because of her coffee regimen.

    I agree…I am very excited about doing this 48 hour detox but don’t seem to have enough information.

    The only thing I have is the recipees and the shopping list. Hopefully we will hear something back soon!

    Today is day 2 of my cleanse. I am drinking coffee because I didn’t even think to check about that. Saw this menu and was in such a hurry to try it I just jumped right in.

    I feel great this morning and the recipes are good. I felt they were for the 48 hour period.
    Soup makes a big pot and that is for 2 dinners – with maybe a little left over
    Juices are for one day to drink both kinds, however, I did one type in the am, one in the pm (afternoon) and then had my vegies while watching tv at night to take care of the munchies. So I have plenty of juice for the two days without making another batch. Although I have the incredients for it.

    A few of the items are expensive and you only need a little bit of them – like the flax seed oil. But I will have it for next time.

    We are on day # 2. Everything is great but we HATE the way the soup tastes. Anyone else find this out? I can barely stomach it. However on a good note I lost 4.6 lbs in24 hours and never felt so full on so few of calories before.

    Patty: you can drink water but not coffee. On detoxes you are trying not to put anything like caffeine in your system, so before u start your cleanse u need to stop the coffee. An easy way is to start mixing 1/2 regular 1/2 decaf for every normal cup of coffee you have… Then when you are comfortable with that (say a couple of days or more if needed if u r experiencing any headaches), then start making ur coffee with 1/4 regular 3/4 decaf . After u experience no issues with that formula, switch to all decaf. Then just stop the coffee period. It’s all about tapering off so u don’t get headachy or irritable..

    Can you direct me to the information I saw on Dr. Oz? He was showing how to stroke each side of the neck from just behind the bottom of the ear down the neck to physically move the lymphatic system (I think that was what he was saying). I’d like to get the exact method again and then do it!!!! Your help to locate the procedure would be MOST appreciated!

    i have the same question as roxy. do u eat the veggies n the soup or are you only makin a broth to eat?

    Cindy, u can eat the veggies in the soup. On the video Dr. Oz shows a bowl of the soup with the vegetables in it, so I think the term broth is misleading becuz it seems u can eat it all.

    I want to know the protien shake cleanse that was talked about on dr oz. you are allowed a little food and I think it would be best for me but can’t find info. Only a great review

    Dr oz protien cleanse? I need details I only read reviews on it and it seems more successful than the 48 hr cleanse since some food was involved. Would like to try it. Help

    I got VERY sick on this cleanse. Doubled over in pain for hours and could not go to the bathroom. Finally had to use laxative. Now about three weeks later I had a recurring episode of the stomach pain so I went to the doc-now the doc thinks I have diverticulosis.

    I live in a small town in SE NM. We don’t even have some of the items you suggest in your list is there any substitutes we can use for these items and get the same effect?
    canned pineapple or fresh?
    ground flaxseed, can we use supplement?
    caraway seeds

    After day one. Not sure if this throbbing headache is a normal reaction. But now up in middle of the night with nausaua and still very bad headache
