Dr Oz: Alzheimer Foods – Prevent Alzheimers Disease with Food

By on May 20, 2010

Doctor Oz gave a list of Alzheimer busting foods.  By eating these foods, you can fight off Alzheimer’s Disease and it may reduce your risk of getting Alzheimers by 1/3… that is amazing!  When you get Alzheimers Disease, your brain looks like it is shedding its skin, which is a sign of aging – and the gray matter shrivels so you get large cavities of empty space in your brain that fills with liquid (which is why brain scans are helpful in diagnosing Alzheimer).  Food that can reduce inflammation can help your brain stay sharp and not shrivel.  Alzheimer Prevention Foods

Alzheimer Fighting Foods

Leafy Greens

Greens have folates which can reduce the plaque in your brain.

Blueberries & Strawberries

Salmon

Salmon is great for your brain because it has omega 3s.

Nuts (Almonds, Walnuts & Sunflower Seeds)

Nuts and Sunflower Seeds have vitamin e, which helps to reduce inflammation.

For an Alzheimer fighting quadro (is that the word like “duo” but for 4???) eat a meal of salmon, berries, nuts and leafy greens.
