Dr Oz: America’s Healthiest Mall Foods: Beef Broccoli Chinese Food


Dr Oz did a segment on America’s Healthiest Mall Foods by playing a game called Food Court Showdown.  Doctor Oz said that Americans spend 110 billion dollars on fast food every year, so you need to make sure that you are making healthy choices.  So, what is healthier a sandwich or a salad at the food court?  What about Beef Broccoli Chinese Food vs Eggplant in Garlic Sauce?

Dr Oz: Sandwich vs Salad

Dr Oz asked which is healthier to eat at the mall food court – a salad or a sandwich?  Dr Oz said that a Dr Oz Food Court Showdownsandwich on whole grain bread is 280 calories vs 970 calories for a salad, which gets most of its calories from the salad dressing.

Dr Oz: Broccoli Beef vs Chinese Eggplant

Dr Oz asked which is healthier, beef and broccoli or eggplants in garlic sauce?  Next time you are craving Chinese Food, get the Broccoli Beef which has 150 calories instead of the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce which has 1000 calories and 2000 mg of sodium.  That is a lot of sodium, which causes high blood pressure.  Dr Oz said that the best option for Chinese Fast Food is to get the steamed vegetables.
