Dr Oz’s Anti-Cancer Diet
Dr Oz did a follow-up Colonoscopy after his Colon Cancer scare that started off the season (click here to read about it: Dr Oz Colon Cancer Stages). Luckily, Doctor Oz seems to have eliminated any signs of Colon Cancer for now, but he gave us an Anti-Cancer Diet Plan to help detoxify our bodies and to lower our risk of getting all different types of Cancer. Of course, there is no guarantee that health is based solely on what you eat, because Dr Oz always eats a healthy diet and he still had Pre-Cancerous Polyps. But your diet is your first defense against Cancer. Here are four fruits and vegetables that you should try to eat every day of the week.
Dr Oz: Blueberries Fight Cancer
Dr Oz’s first food on the Anti-Cancer Diet is blueberries, which contain Anthocyanins that give them their brightly colored pigment that protects them from the sun. The Anthocyanins in blueberries help to prevent free radicals from damaging the cells in our body, which can cause Cancer. Blueberries are beneficial for many different types of Cancer and can even slow down the growth of tumor cells.
Dr Oz: Cruciferous Vegetables Fight Cancer
Doctor Oz’s second food on the Anti-Cancer Diet is Cruciferous Vegetables, which are vegetables in the cabbage family such as broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy, kale and brussel sprouts. There are chemicals in these vegetables that detoxify your body and help your liver cleanse the toxins out of your system. They help to protect against Lung, Stomach and Prostate Cancer, just to name a few.
Dr Oz: Spinach Fights Cancer
Dr Oz’s third food on the Anti-Cancer Diet is Spinach, which is rich in B-Complex Vitamins that protect your body against mutations that turn cells into Cancer.
Dr Oz: Tomatoes Fight Cancer
Docctor Oz’s final food on the Anti-Cancer Diet is Tomatoes, which are another vegetable with a deep, rich color and they contain Lycopene. Tomatoes also help to protect your skin from getting a sunburn, plus they help to prevent Lung, Stomach and Prostate Cancer.
