Dr Oz’s show on What Causes Autism? included a segment on what Autism Signs to look for in your child, because early diagnosis of Autism gives your child the best prognosis. Doctor Oz also had Dr Bob Sears and Dr Michael Gabriel talk about whether or not a Gluten-Free and Casein-Free Diet Helps Autism.
Dr Oz: Autism & Genetics
One mother said that her sister is an Autistic girl and she now has 2 month old twins, so will they be effected due to genetics? Dr Oz added to this question what Dr Bob Sears and Dr Michael Gabriel thought about making dietary changes to help improve Autism symptoms. Unfortunately, I never really heard an answer regarding the link of Autism & Genetics in this segment, how in this previous segment (What Causes Autism?), Alison Singer mentioned a study with identical twins that showed if one twin was Autistic, then the other twin had a 90% chance of also being Autistic – so clearly there seems to be a link between Autism and Genetics.
Dr Oz: Gluten-Free Diet Helps Autism
Dr Bob Sears said that he has seen many Autistic kids improve greatly by being on a Gluten-Free and Casein-Free Diet. It will not help every single child, but if you child is Autistic, then give it a try and see if it helps. Of course you should make sure that you are meeting your child’s nutritional needs along the way as well. Dr Michael Gabriel said that we need to go back to basics and remove everything that is harming our children. Dr Oz said that our kids have always seemed like the canary in the coal mine, and that if our kids are suffering today, then it is really somehow effecting every single one of us.
Dr Oz: Autism Signs in Children
Dr Oz was asked by another lady in his audience, what do we need to look for to tell if our children are Autistic? And when are we in the clear so that we do not have to worry about Autism anymore? Again, nobody answered this second question, and I am sure that all of us would love to know the answer. So, if you happen to know, please share your knowledge with everyone in the comment section below!
