The Tools: Reversal of Disease
Katie, an audience member, said she loved food and weight loss was a battle for her. Her rut was that she couldn’t stay on a diet.
The Tool: Reversal of Disease- requires you to understand your pain. Use this tool when you have to do something uncomfortable. For Katie, the uncomfortable thing was to deprive herself of snacks. The tool teaches you to drive through the short-term crabbiness so you can get to the other side and accomplish your goal—weight loss.
1. Scream out “bring on the pain!” This was the ticket to freedom from your bad habits.
2. Love the pain because it’s the pathway to self control
3. Break through the pain barrier by saying “pain sets me free”
The lessons are simple.
The Tools: Facing the Shadow
Alicia, an audience member, said she wasn’t comfortable in her own skin She felt she wasn’t pretty enough and when she looked into the mirror, she only saw her flaws. Her rut was that she worried too much.
The Tool: Facing the Shadow
First, look into the mirror. You probably see a cartoon of your image with all your insecurities. (crooked teeth, wrinkles around the eyes, etc…) Everybody has a shadow (some area where you feel insecure.)
1. use an image or picture and look at you (Alicia’s shadow is her younger self, when she had more confidence)
2. put all attention on you
3. both of you, as a team, will turn to face people as you silently scream “Listen!”
Doctor Oz also showed you how to live your best life by boosting your mood.
