Dr Oz: Hot Flash Fighting Foods: Flaxseed & Soy

Doctor Oz did a segment called Hot Flash Helpers to give us a list of Hot Flash Fighting Foods.  Three out of four women get hot flashes during menopause, so these tips will come in handy for most women at some point in their life!  Dr Oz Hot Flash Helpers

Vitamin E Foods

Dr Oz said that foods rich in Vitamin E, like sunflower seeds, spinach and papaya, are helpful for combating hot flashes.  Vitamin E helps you to release small amounts of heat all day long and it relaxes your blood vessels.

Flaxseed

Dr Oz said studies have shown that if you eat 2 TB of ground flaxseed every day, then you can cut your hot flashes in half.

Soy

Dr Oz said that you should drink 2 cups of soy milk a day, or eat other forms of soy (like vegetarian meat or sauces made of soy) every day to help cut back on hot flashes, because of its estrogen inducing abilities.
