Dr. Oz: Look Younger For Less- High Tech, Low Cost Drugstore Solutions

By on March 2, 2010

Doctor Oz, Jeanine Downie, author of Beautiful Skin of Color: A Comprehensive Guide to Asian, Olive, And Dark Skin, and Paula Begoun, author of The Original Beauty Bible: Skin Care Facts for Ageless Beauty, discussed how to reverse the effects of aging with high tech but low cost solutions to look 10 years younger without surgery… what could be better?  In America, we spend $40-50 Billion per year on cosmetics to look younger, but why buy the most expensive lotions, potions and cosmetics when you can get stuff that is just as good at the drugstore, but at a fraction of the price?

Dr. Oz’s Anti-Aging Best Solutions & Drugstore Bargains:

Undereye Bags

What causes undereye bags?  Doctor Oz says that we get undereye bags when the fat from behind your eye herniates out and settles beneath the eye, especially as the ligaments in the area get older.  If you don’t sleep much, you will also get capillaries that swell and make even bigger bags under your eyes.  Do not itch your eyes, as this will make your under eye bags worse.  You can try a home remedy with tea bags for removing puffy eye bags.  Jeanine Downie said that creams with eyeseryl tetrapeptides are great.  Paula Begoun said that puffy eyes are largely caused by allergies like allergies to dogs, dust, pollution, hay fever etc.  So you can cure your puffy eyes often by boosting your head higher with pillows when you sleep and by taking a General Antihistimine before going to bed at night.

Laugh Lines / Wrinkles Around Your Mouth

For wrinkles around your mouth, also called laugh lines, Jeanine Downie recommends using products with coffeeberry, which was found by noticing that coffee plantation workers in Costa Rica had amazingly soft hands even though the rest of their skin was highly damaged and rough from exposure to the sun.  One product with coffeeberry that Downie loves is RevaleSkin, which is rich in antioxidants and increases your skins tolerance.  Paula Begoun’s favorite inexpensive options for laugh lines are the following cocktails of antioxidants: Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum, CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion with ceramides and Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel.

Discoloration on Face

If  you had a lot of sun exposure when you were younger, than you are more likely to have wrinkles, discoloration and uneven skin tone as you age.  Doctor Oz showed a “map” of someone’s face from his audience to show the variance and changes in skin color throughout her face.  Jeanine Downie suggests using a product with helioplex which stabilizes UVE protection.  Everyone should be using Sunblock from January to December.  With over 1.3 million cases of skin cancer last year in America, we cannot afford to not be wearing Sunblock every day!  Paula Begoun likes sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium oxide in it like Blue Lizard Australian Suncream Lotion, Clinique City Block Sheer Oil-Free Skincare or Solar Sense Clear Zinc Sun Protection.
