Dr Oz: Actipatch & OrthoCor
Doctor Oz spoke about Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy or PEMFs, and then introduced Dr. William Pawluk, a family physician, who used the OrthoCor Active Knee System. Dr. Pawluk suggested making sure the product was FDA approved before trying or purchasing any item. Do your research online.
Dr Oz brought out an audience member, Erica, who stated that she had been wearing the OrthoCor device for only a couple of days but had noticed an improvement already. Erica stated that she found out about the device from a previous Dr Oz Show and decided to try it out.
Dr Oz: OrthoCor Knee Wrap
Dr. Pawluk explained how the device worked. On the inside of the device, there were yellow coils that generated an electromagnetic wave. The combination of heat and energy increases circulation and reduces swelling. The OrthoCor Knee Wrap retails for $450 and is not covered by insurance.
Dr Oz: Actipatch Review
The Actipatch is a cheaper method but it has not been FDA cleared for medical pain. Dr Oz had one section of the audience members try the Actipatch. He spoke to one of those audience members who stated that it felt good and was soothing. Dr. Pawluk stated that he would recommend this product but that it does take longer to see results.
Dr Oz: Pulsed Magnets vs Static Magnets
Dr Oz stated that you should look for PULSED magnets. Avoid static magnets unless you’re being helped by a doctor. Products to be wary of include shoe inserts and wrist magnets, which may not be powerful enough to penetrate through the body.
