Dr Oz: Salt Therapy

For quite some time, Dr Oz has encouraged you to stay away from salt—but not in this case. Salt therapy has amazing healing powers. With its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, salt therapy can help a cold or even improve your skin. This healing mineral has been around for centuries and cures other common conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema. Salt is being rediscovered as a natural medical miracle to heal common ailments.

Donna, an audience member, stated that she used a Neti Pot to help clear her sinuses. Dr Oz Salt Therapy Dr Oz told her while salt works for that, salt also had healing powers to help with:

-Dermatitis Psoriasis
-Cystic Fibrosis

Dr Oz: Salt Inhaler

1. Salt inhaler- Salt inhalers can help with a cold. Dr Oz and Donna demonstrate by using the inhaler to suck in as much as you can through the mouth. Breathe out through the nose. Donna stated that she could taste the salt and that it made her sinuses much clearer. Dr Oz showed an image of how it worked. You sucked in through the mouth and exhaled the salt through the nose. When you sucked in the salt, the cilia( located on the tongue and contained a thick mucus) was cleaned off. The salt inhaler is also great for cold and flu symptoms. You can purchase this item for $25 online.

2. Salt bath- A salt bath is great for dry skin because it helps to hydrate the skin and decreases inflammation. Dr Oz drew Donna a bath and asked her to step in. Donna stated that the bath felt warm and good. The silky sensation should last on the skin after the bath too.

I watched your show today and have a mother that could really use one of those salt inhalers. However, when i looked them up online to order one they are expensive. On your show you said they could be purchased for under $25.00 so I was wondering if you could please tell me where i can find them for this price. It would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

  2. I saw some for $25 and they were made of plastic. You WANT ceramic. Be very careful. The cheap ones are ceramic, you get what you pay for. Save a little and get the right one. :-)

  3. i am interested in the inhaler you demonstrated for the use for asthma cannot find the article or pic of it, where can i buy it…thank you
