Dr Oz: Good Night’s Sleep Tips
Doctor Oz gave a list of Easy Ways to Get Healthy, and then provided this fabulous list of ways to get a good night’s sleep! Mary, an audience member, told Dr Oz that she wakes up in the middle of the night. She goes back to sleep quickly but then found herself awake again. In the morning when she woke up, she was exhausted.
Dr Oz showed an image of Mary’s bedroom to investigate why she wasn’t getting a good night sleep.
In the picture, there was wine, cheese and crackers on the nightstand table and a cell phone on the bed. (See where I’m headed with this one yet?)
Mary told Dr Oz that she got home late at night and then brought food to her bedroom for a late dinner. Dr Oz, in turn, told her that was a big No! No! He had a few tips for Mary (and the audience) on how to get a good night sleep.

-eat before 6 pm. If you’re out, bring your food to work. If you go out to dinner, finish before 8.
No Cell Phone Zone
Mary told Dr Oz that her cell phone was on all the time because she was constantly working. While constant work could be an issue, Doctor Oz was more concerned with the radiation from the cell phone. Studies show that radiation has been shown to interfere with deep sleep. He suggested no talking on the cell phone 1 hour before sleep. Also, you should keep your cell phone 5 feet away from the bed.
Do Socks Help You Sleep?
Mary told Doctor Oz that she didn’t wear socks to bed. Dr Oz suggested wearing socks because your feet sense temperature and your body follows your feet. Socks trick your body into thinking it’s hot so your body cools down and helps you fall asleep faster.
