Dr Oz: $5 Stress Remedies

Dr Oz did a segment on Stress Busters that cost $5 and take only 5 minutes.  Stress can cause high blood pressure along with a whole mess of other health problems, so if you can minimize your stress in 5 minutes for $5, that sounds perfect to me!  Doctor Oz’s Stress Remedies include Skullcap Tea, Suma or Brazilian Ginseng and a Scalp Massager.

Dr Oz: Skullcap Tea Relieves Stress

Dr Oz’s first Stress Remedy is Skullcap Tea, which is indigenous to North America.  The flavonoids found in Skullcap Extract helps us to relax and is even Dr Oz Suma Smoothieused to treat Epilepsy caused by stress problems.  You make Skullcap Tea out of warm water and Skullcap Extract.  Doctor Oz’s helper said that it is fairly tasteless.  Dr Oz said that for about $5 you can get a month’s supply of Skullcap Tea!

Dr Oz: Suma Relaxation Smoothie Recipe

Doctor Oz’s second Stress Remedy is Suma, also known as Brazilian Ginseng.  Lindsey Duncan said that Suma is used for stress, trauma and just about anything that is traumatizing to your body.  You can make the perfect Relaxation Smoothie by combining Acai Berry Juice which is high in B Vitamins, Greek Yogurt which has the amino acid Tryptophan, a banana for potassium and Suma Powder.  Dr Oz’s helper said that the smoothie had a delicious berry flavor.  Lindsey Duncan said that the drink has over 300 nutrients and is the perfect way to relax and cut back on stress.

Dr Oz: Scalp Massager

Dr Oz’s final Stress Remedy is to use a Scalp Massager.  Lindsey Duncan said that they did some clinical trials and found that a Scalp Massager helps to produce Serotonin and Endorphins, which help you relax and feel good.  Doctor Oz said that you can buy a Scalp Massager for $4.

Am I missing something…looking for the recipe for the Suma Relaxation Smoothie found the contents just don’t know the specific amounts?

    Thank you!

  4. says

Sandy, you are totally right… I looked everywhere and could not find the Suma Smoothie Recipe on Dr Oz’s website… I will keep checking over the next few days and will post the exact amounts if Dr Oz updates his website with the recipe!

I think I have the recipe for the Suma Smoothie. 1 cup of Acai Berry Juice. 1 Banana. 1 Tablespoon of Suma Powder & a heeping tablespoon of Greek Yogurt.

If you find the exact measurements, could you please post them.

  6. says

If you look at his Cherry Tart Smoothie (which is almost like the Suma recipe) he adds Ice.

I guess a little ice wouldn’t hurt. I’m gonna try it both ways.

  7. says

I just looked up Suma Root Powder. It states to use 1 to 2 teaspoons a day. So please change the above recipe to 1 Cup of Acai Berry Juice. 1 Banana. On Dr. Oz’s show he put in 2 teaspoons of the Suma Root Powder & a heaping Tablespoon of Greek Yogurt. (if you can ever find the video on his webiste. I can’t, but watched the show twice).

I’m going to make it and see if it needs a little ice. Good luck…..

I make this shake every morning for breakfast ever since it aired. Heres my recipe:
    1 cup Acai Berry Juice
    1 Banana
4 ounces of Plain Greek Yogurt
    1 teaspoon Cocoa Powder (unsweetened)
    5 ice cubes

Put it in the blender and enjoy. It’s so easy that sometimes I make it for lunch when there’s nothing in the house to eat.

I substituted the Cocoa Powder for the Suma Root Powder.

  9. Maria Zambrano says

I made it and it had an awful aftertaste, maybe the suma powder I bought its no right? can someone tell me if it is normal to have a bad aftertaste? or where I can buy a suma powder without aftertaste. Thanks
