Doctor Oz gave the following list of foods he would never order at a Mexican Restaurant, an Italian Restaurant, a Chinese Restaurant and at a Diner for brunch.
Dr. Oz’s List of Foods to Skip At Restaurants:
1. Mexican Restaurant – Burrito Vs. Fajita
When you eat Mexican food, skip the burrito (with roughly 1500 calories) and choose a fajita instead (which has about 500 calories). Fajitas are better because you can decide what to put inside of them, whereas burritos come stuffed with sour cream, cheese, rice and other unhealthy foods.
2. Italian Restaurant – Ravioli Vs. Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara
When you eat Italian food, skip the carbonara dish which has 1400 calories from all of the oil, butter, eggs and bacon in the sauce. Instead, choose the mushroom ravioli in the sun dried tomato sauce… yum!
3. Chinese Restaurant – Crispy Chicken Chowmein Vs. Kung Pao Chicken
Kung Pao Chicken has more fat than two burgers and fries! Order the chicken chow mein, which has around 700 calories.
4. Diner for Brunch – Blueberry Crepes with Sausage Patties Vs. French Toast
French toast has 1200 calories, because it is bathed in butter and sugar. Crepes are the better choice, and blueberries are full of antioxidants. Dr. Oz said it is even better if you can cut out the sausage patties!
