If you have ever had dandruff you know how embarrassing it can be and difficult it is to get rid of it, so Dr. Oz asked for an Assistant of the Day to help him explains what causes the flakes and and what you can do to stop the itch.
Dr Oz: Signs of Psoriasis
Dr. Oz says two out of three people have had dandruff at least once in their life, with it being most prominent in African Americans, with whites and Asians following not too far behind. The skin of the scalp is supposed to shed, but in the case of dandruff it happens more chronically due to either being too dry or from oils and fungi that build up and cause embarrassing flakes. Dr. Oz says there are many types of dandruff, including those that are a sign of something more serious going on in the body.
