Dr Oz shared a bunch of great Skin Remedies, but he isn’t finished with you just yet! He still has Home Remedies for your common ailments from A-Z, which include joint pain remedies, and remedies for laryngitis. Dr. Tasneem Bhatia joined Dr Oz to give you her best remedy for the common cold; homemade chicken noodle soup. Dr. Bhatia says contrary to popular belief, colds are not worse in the winter. They are just as bad in the spring and summer. The virus has changed but the treatment is the same.

Dr Oz Joint Pain Remedy

To help relieve joint pain, Doctor Oz says to try yoga. This offers relief to the painful joints without the wear and tear.

Dr Oz Keratosis Pilaris Remedy

Keratosis Pilaris is the build-up of dead skin. Doctor Oz says one great way to get rid of the dead skin is to use unscented body lotions and scrubs. Use unscented because some of the scented lotions contain fragrances, which may cause irritation.

Throat Coat Tea Laryngitis Remedy

In order to help with a scratchy throat or laryngitis, Doctor Oz says to take Throat Coat Tea 4x per day to help loosen up mucus. This will also take down some of the pain.

Dr Oz Whiskey Gargle for Laryngitis

(Ahhhh, finally! My kind of remedy!) To help with laryngitis, Dr Oz says to mix 1 tsp of whiskey (yes, just 1 tsp) into 8 oz of warm water. Gargle and spit. (yes, I said spit too!) The whiskey is an anti-inflammatory and acts as an astringent.

Dr Oz: N-A-C Supplement Cold Remedy

Dr Oz says to help get rid of colds, try 250 mg of N-A-C supplement per day. This will break down the mucus to help you breath better.

Dr Oz: Chicken Soup Recipe for a Cold

Dr Oz Chicken Soup Recipe Cold Remedy

Dr Oz shared a Chicken Soup Recipe that is the perfect Cold Remedy.

3-4 cloves of garlic
½ onion
2-3 Asian chilies
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1 whole chicken on the bone (Bone marrow is full of iron)
1 C chicken broth (contains nutrients to heal as well as hydrate your body.)
4 C water
Oregano, salt, paprika and turmeric (to taste)
1. Stir-fry the onion, garlic and chilies in the sesame oil in a large pot.
2. Add the chicken to the mix once the vegetables start to brown.
3. Stir-fry the chicken until it is pale pink.
4. Add water and broth.
5. Add in the seasonings.
6. Let the soup come to a boil, then set it to simmer for ½ hour. (You can let simmer longer, if you like.)
The bone marrow is full of iron, which your body craves when you’re sick. The spiciness of the Asian chilis, onions and garlic will help break down the mucus in your body. Remember how your mother always told you to drink liquids when you’re sick? She was right. The broth of the chicken soup will keep your body hydrated and is chock full of nutrients to help your body heal faster.

Dr Oz Juice Recipe for Nasal Congestion

To get rid of nasal congestion, try fresh juice;
Combine 2 apples (with skin), 1 pineapple and 2 tsp of honey. Place it in a juicer and mix it up. Enjoy!

Dr Oz Steam Inhaler for Nasal Congestion

Another remedy for nasal congestion is to create an at-home steam inhaler. Boil 3 cups of hot water in a pot. Add 2 sprigs of rosemary or eucalyptus. Do this 2-3 times per day to break up mucus.

  1. Where do you get N.A.C. 250 mg? My health food store has it 600 mg. On Amazon it does not come in that low of dosage.
