Dr Oz did a segment with the Deen Brothers, Bobby Deen and Jamie Deen, called the Deen Brother’s Search For The Unhealthiest Cook In America. They picked a lady named Vita for a cooking makeover. Doctor Oz had the Deen Brothers visit Vita and they discovered that she is a fry-a-holic like most Southerners including Paula Deen! Vita loves fried chicken, fried pork chops, fried hot wings and lots of butter. The Deen Bros found her meal replacement shakes right next to the box of buttered popcorn. Vita goes through 105 bottles of oil every year – that is a lot of oil!

Jamie Deen said that he is cuddly, but he knows how important it is to make small changes to eat more healthy foods. So, the Deen Bros came up with a nice, light alternative to fried chicken and biscuits.
Dr Oz: Fried Chicken Recipe
The Deen Brother’s Un-Fried Chicken Recipe is made of boneless, skinless chicken thighs. You make a marinate and soak the chicken thighs in it for a few hours in a Ziploc bag – or you can skip the few hours wait if you are in a rush. Then you dip each piece of chicken into corn flakes which becomes like the batter. They said to make sure you get unsweetened corn flakes – Frosted Flakes sure would taste awful in this recipe! I have done something very similar but used Fiber One cereal instead of Corn Flakes, and it came out great plus I got a little extra fiber into my family’s diet without them knowing! You cook the chicken at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until the internal temperature is 160 degrees and it is golden brown. Vita’s original fried chicken had 607 calories and 26 grams of fat, but the Deen Brothers Un-Fried Chicken Recipe is 227 calories and only 3 grams of fat.
