Dr Oz: Relaxation Exercises to Help You Sleep
Dr. Oz says now that he is a grandfather he has been brushing up on his bedtime stories, but he knows you need something a bit more effective when you cannot get to sleep at night so he has a few solutions you might find helpful.
- Eat a sleep-inducing midnight snack. A combination of sunflower seeds and dates is the perfect way to help you fall asleep because it stimulates your body’s production of Melatonin, which is a sleep hormone. Dr. Oz recommends mixing it together before you go to bed, so if you happen to wake up in the middle of the night it will be easy to grab and hopefully lull you back to sleep.
- Progressive muscle relaxation. If your body is tense your mind will follow, so Dr. Oz recommends this exercise to help you relax before bed.
