The Internet is abuzz with requests for the Prayer of Protection Bracelets that Robin Roberts recently shared with her TV co-stars. The bracelets are now being sold through the Be The Match charity, which Robin is promoting to help raise awareness about the need for bone marrow donors.

Though she had planned to finish out the week in her anchor chair before beginning medical leave, Robin Roberts left Good Morning America a day early this week. She wanted to travel to be with her family in Louisiana, where her mother was gravely ill. Sadly, the news came on Friday morning that Robin’s mother passed away. But Robin made it home in time to say goodbye to her mom.

Robin Roberts: MDS Blood Disorder

This week, Robin Roberts met with a family that has been touched by Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), the same blood disorder she was diagnosed with in spring 2012. But in this unbelievable story, three children from the same family are suffering with the disease. This week’s GMA musical guests, Martina McBride and the reunited Backstreet Boys, both spoke out in support of Team Robin and praised her strength and grace during her difficult challenges. During Robin’s last broadcast this week, Martina performed an emotional rendition of “I’ll Love You Through It.” On Friday, Backstreet Boys dedicated their hit “Larger Than Life” to Robin and her family.
