Doctor Oz was asked by a lady what we can do to speed up the process of weight loss. Should you do more cardio exercises? Or more weight lifting?
Dr Oz said that she was asking the wrong question. We should be asking how to “lose waist” not how to “lose weight.” If you gain muscle, it weighs more than fat. When you lift weights, you will actually burn more calories because your body will continue burning calories even after your workout. In fact, you might burn more calories between workout than during your workout. Whereas with cardio exercise, you lose weight while you run, but you do not keep losing weight afterward. Although, it has always been my understanding that running and cardio can help to speed up your metabolism, no? What do you think?
