Dr. Oz was asked by an audience member today why she cannot stop burping. She says she burps regardless of if she is eating or not.
Dr. Oz said that when you burp, 20% of the time it is coming from the food you eat, but the rest of the time it is something else. Basically, when the bacteria in your intestine “go to the bathroom”, they produce gas which you have to get rid of… and better to get rid of this gas through burping than through the other end! Dr. Oz recommends eating probiotic yogurt or kefir because the real cultures can help your intestines, and it may help you to stop burping!
